Happy 29th Birthday Seth!!!

Yesterday...amongst all of the Jillian-turns-3 celebrations, Seth turned 29! I usually have Jillian's birthday the weekend before Seth's so as to not overshadow his day...but it did not work out this year. Still, I think Seth had a pretty amazing day doing exactly what he wanted...going to the pool and being with family. Saturday night, Seth and I went out to dinner and met up with Aunt Carol for a fun night...so we did get a date and a birthday dinner in. Then on Sunday, we had breakfast with Seth's family, and then over to my parent's pool all day long for some fun in the sun. We then ate with my WHOLE family at our family's favorite Mexican restaurant for dinner and had cake and presents at our house afterwards. I had a lot of fun and really hope Seth did too!
Happy 29th Birthday SETH!!!!! We hope you enjoy your last year in your 20's!!!! :) HA HA!!! Seth refuses to hear that he is almost 30. He will allow 29 at this point but no discussing next year's birthday!

Fathers Day 2009

Our month of June is SUPER busy with our anniversary, Jillian's birthday, Seth's birthday, and father's day. So, I wanted to make sure and include a father's day post in the midst of all the birthday celebrations! We had a great father's day this year doing what we do best...going to the pool. We started out by getting Seth some breakfast in bed, then church, then onto the pool and dinner at my parent's house. It was a really great day and I hope Seth felt as WONDERFUL of a dad as we think he is!!!

Before I get to pictures, I will just say that Seth really is an amazing Dad...he is a natural! I have these memories of seeing Seth walk into chapel at Harding (late of course) with a baseball cap on low...and just thinking how fun and cool he was. NEVER did I realize that just a few short years later, that boy would be the BEST father to our two girls!!! From the second Jillian was born, Seth was very hands-on and involved and in love with his girls. We are so very lucky to have him as the Dad in our house!!!!

Seth and his fan club

The Girls
I just had to include this one because I NEVER get a great photo of both girls, and this one turned our pretty great!

I have mentioned many times before that Seth has really gotten into grilling and smoking food for us. He is REALLY good at his new hobby. So, for Father's day, we got him a new shelf for all of his equipment, a new smoking cookbook, and some new utensils. Now he has his own place in the garage for all of his stuff.

Here is his cookbook

I also organized and hung up all of these strollers on the wall. That may have been Seth's best gift in his mind! I don't even know why we have ANY of these strollers...our kids WILL NOT sit in them!

Here is Papaw in his new Cowboys hat that we gave him for the pool! Isn't he a handsome fellow?
All these girls ADORE their Papaw! He is such a sweet and loving Dad and Papaw! We are so very blessed to have him! He is always getting on the floor playing with the girls and letting them boss him around! The girls can never get enough Papaw!

Jillian was pouting and wouldn't be in the picture, but here are the other 4! I love Ansley in this picture...if this is not a mini-Summer and flashback to my childhood...then I don't know what is!

And because Blogger SUCKS, these pictures have decided to not be centered! Anyway, here is Papaw enjoying the day on his new wraft from Mimi! He was on there long enough for this picture before all the girls wanted on.

Emmy and Jilly enjoying a wraft...aren't they just 2 peas in a pod???

Cute Baby Jules waiting for dinner!

NOT waiting so patiently anymore!!!

Cute girls watching TV after dinner!

Jillian fell after dinner and bonked her head HARD on the stone outside! Here is her bandaid that had her feeling all better!
We did not get to see B-Pa this weekend for Father's day, but will get to celebrate this coming weekend when he comes for Jillian's birthday. Seth and I are both blessed to have such wonderful dads in our lives and we hope that we can be as good of examples to our own kids! Our fathers are truly the BEST of the BEST and we are so thankful that they are in our lives!
Happy Father's Day!!!!
Okay, so this weekend is Jillian's birthday party and then Seth turns 29 on Sunday! Whew...I have lots of blogging to do in the next week!!!!

A Day In The Life of The Birthday Girl

Yesterday was Jillian's big day and we did a LOT of fun things and I took a LOT of pictures. So, I think I will just let the pictures tell her story...

When Jillian got up, we made muffins together. She wanted banana nut over chocolate chip! What in the world?

Here are the girls enjoying birthday breakfast.

Jillian about to blow out her candles while showing us that she is officially 3!

Blowing out the candles!
She has some of the yogurt parfait on her face from earlier...forgot a picture of that one! :)

Jillian got some new hot pink crocs!
She has been wanting some since all 3 of her cousins have them and they are so cool!

Showing off the crocs

Here is Jillian posing for her 3 year picture.
Make sure and check out the previous post to see how much she has grown since last year.

Jillian and Mama...the two stars from June 22, 2006!

The first thing we did yesterday was to go to Old Navy...or as Jillian calls it, "The Pannequin Store." She is OBSESSED with the mannequins in all the Old Navy commercials and loves them in real life too. So, when I asked her what she wanted to do, she said she wanted to go to The Pannequin Store...and that is what we did. So, here is Jillian posing with a few of her closest friends.

Jillian LOVES this little girl...she was hugging her goodbye.

Jilly picked out these hot pink and VERY COOL new sunglasses as her treat!
She wore them all day and looked awesome! :)

Then, we went where else...Chick-Fil-A! We met Mimi and Aunt K there for some lunch and ice cream.
In true Aunt Kourtney style, she shows up with the very biggest balloon she could find! Jillian LOVED her Dora balloon from Aunt K!

Jules, Mimi, Aunt K, and Jilly

Then after lunch, Daddy came home from work to help us celebrate the rest of the day. While Jules took a miniature nap, Jilly got to open 2 more presents. She got 2 games...CandyLand and Memory. She had a blast playing them both yesterday and I am so excited she is old enough for something like this now. She REALLY loved memory.

So, after a few games, we took Jillian to Build-A-Bear. Let me start out by saying I am not a fan of stuffed animals...they are simply a waste of space and you can't do anything with them. But, Jillian has never done Build-A-Bear, and I thought she would really get into it. I was right...she loved every second of it, and has been carrying hers around ever since.
She chose a Hello Kitty and it turned out so cute. Here she is bathing it. You can see Daddy in the background wrestling with Jules! That girl is EVERYWHERE!

Here is Jillian and her finished doll that she ironically named Jillian! I have proof...it is on the dolls birth certificate! Jillian chose pajamas, Hello Kitty slippers, and Hello Kitty panties for her doll. It is really cute!

For dinner, we went to Pei Wei since Jillian said she didn't want anything....Seth and I figured we might as well have a decent meal. Here is Jillian eating...Edamame. That is all she ate...almost a whole order of it! I swear, if I would just eat what Jillian eats in a week, then I would totally be skinny!

And finally, what birthday is complete without a little cake. This is Father's Day-turned-birthday cake...but Jillian loved it just the same! Jules even got in on the cake. The perfect ending to a really fun birthday!
Jillian's party is on Saturday...and she is having a pool party! So, if I know myself...and I do...then there will be tons of pictures next week of the big party!
