My Little Pumpkins

I have always called each girl "my pumpkin" or "my little pumpkin pie".  Well, the other day I called Jules my little pumpkin pie and she replied, "I am not your pumpkin pie, I am a big sister."  So, she sure set me straight and MAYBE she is coming to terms with the fact that she won't be our baby for much longer...sniff sniff.
Here are my little pumpkins getting ready for Halloween.  I sure love dressing my kids in holiday stuff...and the seasons are just getting started!

I was trying to get a picture for my "We Have Moved" cards that are about 4 months late...but too many shadows.  Can you spot my pumpkins here?

Happy Halloween from the Patterson's!!

Potty Traning...or Lack Of

A couple of weeks ago, I decided that it was finally time to potty train my little monster.  Well, I gave it about 30 minutes and that was about it.  I just don't have it in me to care right now!  I did Jillian at exactly 2 years and 7 months...and that gives me until Thanksgiving with Jules.  I mean, REALLY...I only have to have it done by the time the third baby arrives in late February.  But whatever...  There is a weekend where Seth will be traveling, and maybe the three of us will just camp out here all weekend long and make this girl FINALLY potty in her chair.  Until then...I leave you with pictures of Jules NOT pottying where she should.

UPDATE to this post...Jules DID potty just once yesterday in her potty.  This is the FIRST time after probably 30 attempts as sitting her down on her potty.  Here's hoping to a pottying future!!!!!

A Date With Emerson

Last week, Emerson came over to play with the girls.  It was one of those days with beautiful weather, and I think they girls were outside for over an hour playing with no interruptions!  They then came in for a drink of water and here is the great picture I was able to get of the three...

Bottoms Up!

I don't know what it is about Jules in this picture but she looks so stinkin cute to me!

Donuts with Dad and Papaw

At Butterfly School last week, we had Donuts with Dad.  Since I have the two girls...and since Papaw is semi-retired right now, we wanted to invite him along too.  Papaw always treats the girls to donuts every Sunday, and this was their chance to return the favor.  So, Papaw and Daddy brought the girls to school, took them to their classes to check things out, and then got to enjoy breakfast all together.  I know the girls had lots of fun and I am sure the boys did too!  Here are some pics of their fun morning...

You can tell which man is the one retired and which one still has to punch that time card!!!

And yes, I am a teacher, so I get the benefit of getting to watch all of these fun things take place!!!

I know the girls really want to thank their Daddy and their Papaw for coming to eat with them and see their school.  They love you both very much!!!

Surprise, Surprise

It's a Girl!!!!!

We went to the doctor yesterday and found out that our third baby is another girl.   We really could not be happier.  We know girls, we love girls...and we are thrilled to just add one more to the mix.  We now have our own sorority or cheerleading squad right here in the comfort of our own home!

Here are some reasons why we are BEYOND happy with another girl:

  • There is just not any room for trucks and action figures in our play room
  • I have 13 bins of girl clothes that are in great condition just dying to be worn again by another precious girl
  • I am no where near ready to sift through those clothes and consign them...so it is better that they just get worn again and I can consign as we go
  • I won't have to drastically change my baby nursery.  It is already set up and I can now just tweak it to make it special for #3
  • I will not have to change a boy diaper in front of my girls and have to explain what that strange THING is to my 4 and 2 year old
  • I think we only need to buy diapers at this point and we are set.  Maybe just a few more bows!
  • Seth's fan club will now be complete.  Jules is still the president, but Seth welcomes all girls to worship and adore him into our family.
  • We get to throw 3 weddings one day!!!  (This could also go on the con list, I guess...$$$$$$$$$$$)

So, anyway, we really are so happy that the baby appears to be very healthy and growing perfectly inside of me.  I am growing too...just not as perfectly as that sweet baby!  :)  We are blessed to have another girl and welcome all the drama and love that comes along with that!  Wish us luck!

Afternoon Cuteness

These pictures were just pretty cute and I felt like sharing.  Jules wore this precious DALE hand-me-down dress the other day and looked adorable.  Of course, as I was snapping her picture, the Big Sister didn't want to be ignored.  So, here they both are...looking cute for school.

Jules putting out the vibe

Tomorrow is my big ultrasound!!!!  I am so excited and ready to find out if this is a boy or girl.  So check back and I will let you know!  :)

30 Is The New 29

Me and my girls on my big 30th

So, I turned 30 on September 26th.  I wasn't totally dreading 30 like a lot of people do.  I actually think I am going to be really great in my 30's.  Ha Ha!   :)  I truthfully was just not looking forward to entering this new decade of my life feeling yucky, pregnant, and down right NOT attractive.   I know, I know...I am very lucky to be carrying this third child of ours when so many people struggle to do so.  I still just couldn't help feeling NOT as great as I had planned at 30.  But, with the help of my family and my friends, I really enjoyed turning 30 and I feel so blessed to be right where I am...even if that isn't quite the trophy wife that I want to be (yet!)!!!

The weekend of my birthday, my best friend Carolyn took me out for a girls day to celebrate.  Seth kept the girls (during the Arkansas vs. Alabama game...major points there), and Carolyn and I went to a movie, to shop, and to a long lunch.  We had a great time and I really enjoyed having a day to be an adult...with no children.  I also really enjoyed having a meal with no interuptions and where I walked away actually remembering what I ate.  This is rare for me.

Then on my actual birthday, Seth delivered breakfast and him and the girls got me my very own Ipad!!!!  It is awesome and I am sure Seth has regretted it ever since because I am constantly wanting to play on it.  Ha!  My family took us all out to a fun dinner and back to our house for cake to celebrate.  I was so grateful for my family on this day for making me have such a fun 30th.  I was even thankful to the Cowboys for NOT sucking for once and actually winning a game on this day.  I am sure this will be the final win of the season.

And, as if that weren't enough.  Seth's Mom came down the following week to help out and kept the girls all day Friday while Seth and I saw TWO movies and went to dinner.  When you are pregnant on your birthday, there just aren't a lot of options for a wild time...and we thought going to TWO movies seemed pretty crazy.  And if anyone is keeping up, I saw 3 movies within 1 week.  That really skewed my post-children average of about 2 movies per year!!!  I loved every second of all that quality time relaxing with Seth!!!  We had a great dinner that night and were in bed by 10.  At this moment in my life...that is the perfect date for me!

So, here is to 30!  I am not scared and welcome this lovely decade with open arms.  Especially 31...when all the babies will be done growing inside of me and I will regain full ownership of my body!!!  I totally expect to be back to myself by then!
