The Big Bash

06.21.08

On Saturday, we had Jillian's big birthday bash! I found these little red and white polka dot bikinis right after I found out that Jules was going to be a girl (In January), so I bought them and decided then that Jillian would have a ladybug themed birthday! It was so much fun to find ladybug stuff...because it is everywhere!!! Here is her invitation...

For Jillian's Ladybug party, we borrowed a HUGE waterslide/bounce house from our great friends...The Brocks! (THANKS Brock boys for sharing with Jillian!) We set up the waterslide, our kiddie pool, the sand box, and some chairs and just had a fun backyard party! Seth grilled out hotdogs to go with some chips, dip, watermelon, and popsicles. Jillian invited lots of family and friends and we are so thankful to everyone who came to her party! Here are WAY too many pictures of our fun day!

The Birthday Girl in her birthday suit...so to speak! She has matching Ladybug hairbows...naturally!

I was trying to get a full body shot...and this was as good as it got! She looks like such a big girl!

Love those dimples!

The Red Polda-Dot Bikini Sisters!

Jules looking precious in her "kini"!

The Family Shot...at least the best one we could get! Jillian obviously had better things to do!

The door leading to the party

The table of food

The table before the food was laid out

Jillian's Birthday Cake

The party favors were a book called "Ladbug Birthday" and a cookie that I made that looks like a ladybug.

The waterslide. Jillian is DYING to get in before her guests arrive!

Here is Jillian going down the slide...

A little nervous...

Now she LOVES it! Look at that face!

Proud Girl! ( I think she looks like my neice Ansley in this picture)

Jillian and her friend, Violet

Aunt K and Uncle Caleb getting in the pool area with the kids! Jillian loves them both!!!

Cousins Ansley and Macy trying to convince themselves to go down the slide!

B-Pa taking Jillian down the tiny slide! B-Pa really got in there and helped all the kids out all day long! He is such a fun B-Pa!

Daddy...still a kid! He had to go down the slide too...he couldn't resist! Jillian thinks her Daddy is so cool!

Aunt Carol and Mommy

Mommy, Daddy, and Jilly on her big day

Great Memaw, Grandmama, and Mimi...who ALWAYS dresses for the theme of the birthday parties! She made her earrings and necklace just for the big day! So cute!!!

Jo, Aunt Carol, Jules, Mimi, Grandmama, and Papaw

Papaw, Great Papaw, and Great Memaw trying to stay cool in the 100 degree weather!

Some of the kids eating popsicles and ice cream. Carter Brock, Hudson Brock, Griffin Brock, Ansley, and Macy

Jillian opening her gifts. She got a Nemo from Aunt Carol and LOVES it!

Still opening!

Jillian modeling her new back pack that she got for MDO in the Fall.

You can guess what Baby Jules did all day! That is right...she was passed around by everyone! I never even really saw much of her...I just assumed that SOMEONE was loving on my little baby! It is so great having an easy-going baby. Jillian never let anyone hold her but me when she was little!

Aunt Carol again

I know that Aunt Kristin, Jo, and Grandmama also had her and I forgot to get pictures!!! That Baby just loves to get loved on!!!

Some of Jillian's favorite gifts...

Mimi and Papaw gave Jillian the cutest table and chairs for her toy room! They also gave her a tea party set and she has had about 1,000 tea parties since Saturday!

B-Pa and CC gave Jillian a Karaoke set where she can actually watch herself on TV while she sings and dances!

Here she is in action!

Unlce Layton, Aunt Summer, Ansley, Macy, and Emerson got Jillian her very own sleeping bag! Jillian LOVES it and I feels like such a big girl in it! It is the cutest sleeping bag I have ever seen!

WE had so much fun at Jillian's birthday party and I know that Jillian really enjoyed turning 2! Now it is time to start planning Jules' first birthday! (KIDDING SETH!!!!)

I loved all your pictures. What sweet girls?

I have a girl who will be 2 in August and another girl who was born March 28...we were supposed to have an April baby. She had plans of her own.

I love the Ladybug theme! And that slide is so fun-I saw one at Toys R Us and really wanted it, but we're running out of room! Looks like everyone had a blast and Jillian had a great party! We're finally settled down here, so let me know when y'all want to get together!

LOVE the themed birthday! My husband thinks I'm crazy for having to have a theme...I now have proof that I'm not alone! :)
Truett's b-day is the 11th. We, too, took the fam to Chuck E. Cheese as a 'pre-party'. It was so much fun, we might even consider going back for his 'pre-party' celebration NEXT YEAR! :)

I think Seth, myself, and our dad may have had more fun on the slide than anyone else. Very nice job on the party...everything was great.
