Halloween Flashback
Here are just a couple of pictures of Jillian from last year on Halloween...she was a kitty cat!! Jilly was only four months old and teeny tiny! We trick or treated with her cousins and I wore her in the bjorn the whole time! I predict this year will be very different! Pictures of my little devil will be posted soon!
Happy Halloween!

Jillian and the New Tree
Seth and I just got a new tree for our back yard and it just got planted last week. I promised my mother in law that I would take a picture of Jillian standing beside the tree...easier said than done. Here is the best of what I could get! She does love the tree and likes to touch it...but no posing!!! She did say tree though...so that is good enough!

Pumpkin Patch
Last weekend, Seth and I decided to brave the weekend crowd at the famous Flower Mound Pumpkin Patch and take Jillian for her fall photo spread! Of course, we were one family of millions out there it seemed, but it must be done, right? Last year Jillian was just barely four months old and just sat where we put her...posed for all pictures...it was great! Well, this year in true Jillian spirit, she had a mind of her own. She wouldn't look at me AT ALL for any pictures...so most of these are of the top of her head or the back of her. I still got about 50 pictures or so...but it just isn't as easy as it used to be! Here are the best of the worst!!
This is my favorite. It has this red tint because she is sitting in a fire truck

Breast Cancer Walk...Team MIMI
Mimi, Me, Jillian, Macy, Aunt Carol
Summer, Emerson, and Kourtney
When I was in the 8th grade, my grandmother died from her second stint with breast cancer. The subject has always been really near and dear to my mom's heart...so several years ago she started taking part in the Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure in Dallas. Last year, when Jillian was only 4 months old, we decided to join in the tradition with her. My mom wants it to be something that all the girls (and there are a lot of us) do every year together. Of course, Jillian can officially say that she has done it every year of her life...if she chooses to keep it up after the first mandatory 18 years of it.
Today we went to the 2007 walk...and it was so much fun. It was complete chaos as we joined the other 20 something thousand people who also walked...but really fun anyways. It is almost like a fair with booths set up and tons of free coupons, hats, bandannas, etc. Every year our team gets bigger. This year it was my mom, me, Jillian, Kourtney (Aunt K), Summer, Macy, Emerson, and my best friend Carolyn (Aunt Carol). WE decked out the little girls in pink from head to toe with pink tutus, bows, and boas courtesy of Mimi. The rest of us decorated with Mimi's stash of pink boas and hats and sunglasses. We got there around 7 this morning...tailgated with some powdered donuts and fruit...and then hit up the freebies! WE got plenty of looks with our crowd of one stroller, one DOUBLE stroller, and 5 adults sporting all of that pink fuss!!!

I's official...she jumped!
Last Thursday, October 11th, Jillian finally did it. She climbed/jumped out of her crib! I was in the living room reading...so there was no noise in the house. I heard her back there stirring, but she had only been asleep for an hour...and well, that just isn't going to cut it if she is only taking one nap a day! So, I let her play. Well, all of a sudden, I heard this thud, and a small cry out...but that was it. I knew instantly what had happened. I ran to my room to get my video monitor, and sure enough, she was no longer in the bed. I couldn't help but laugh and go back there to see what she thought of her big accomplishment. When I opened the door, she was almost running around like she didn't know what to do with herself. She was laughing and I could tell she was really proud!
It has almost been a week now, and that is the only escape so far. It does, however, make me feel better about having to move her to a big girl bed at such a young age. Maybe by February or so, she will be so over her crib!

It's A Boy...MAYBE!!!!
So, my sister heard about this new urine test that you can take at 10 weeks or after to find out the sex of your baby. The company called Intelligender claims that the test, if taken correctly...and after 10 weeks, is 90% accurate! So, I ordered one online and waited until 11 weeks to take it. And, well...it says that Seth and I are having a boy!!! Of course, Seth is ecstatic!!! He really wants a boy to balance out all of the emotional women in this house!
This is fun news considering that I have 2 sisters, my sister has 3 daughters, and I have 1 daughter. If you add that up, it is 7 girls to 0 boys! We are so girly too with our young girls...we love bows, dresses, matching dresses, tutus, pink, etc., etc. So, as I think of bringing a son into this world, I wonder what we will do with him? My mom even wonders if we can teach him to sit down to go potty??? I am sure he would get beaten up in middle school or something though...so that idea is out of the question! Everyone has already told me that boys are just so sweet and love their mamas! That would be nice, since Jillian is already a HUGE daddy's girl. I know once that boy is here, that we will just fall all over him. I still wonder though...how do you dress a boy cute??? It seems there are so many more options for girls than for boys...and dressing my child is one of my most favorite hobbies! I do take comfort in my good friend Tika. She has 3 boys...and they are boy's boys...always dressed cute and boyish in camo and other fun things...so I know it can be done! Still, going from a girly girl to a boy will be a transition...but we will have fun doing it.
Just as my disclaimer...I did ask my ob about this test the other day, and he pretty much laughed at me. He thinks that this is sort of a hoax and can't be all that accurate...especially considering I only paid $38 for it. He thinks it is more of a 50-50 chance to be right than 90-10, if you can read between those lines. Still, I will be thinking boy until December when I find out for sure!
Here are some pictures of the test. You can see that the specimen turned the smoky green that indicates boy!

Jillian's First Trip to the Zoo
This past weekend we decided that since the weather was FINALLY not in the 90's, that we would take a family trip somewhere outside. We decided to go to the Dallas Zoo. It really felt so good that morning...somewhere in the 70's! That is good for Dallas during our really hot "fall"! So, we packed up and headed to the zoo.
Jillian absolutely loves animals right now...as I am sure most kids her age do...so we knew that she would have a great time! Here she is looking at some penguins swimming. She made her noise for birdie when she saw them...we thought that was close enough! To Jillian, all animals either bark like a dog, moo like a cow, make a birdie sound, or the ooh ooh aah aah of the monkey. That covers all animal sounds to her!
On of her favorite animals right now is the monkey...she loves to make the ooh ooh, aah aah sound. So, here she is checking out the gorillas! This HUGE gorilla was so cute and saw us standing there staring at him. So he casually walked over to the glass and laid back so that we could get a nice posed picture of him!

I had to post this picture since it is such a rarity! Anyone who knows Jillian KNOWS that this child DOES NOT sleep anywhere but in bed...not in strollers...not in car seats...NEVER on her momma! But, she did fall asleep at the zoo! I guess all that animal watching is a lot for a little girl to handle!
Here are a couple pictures of Jillian running through the stream at the Children's Zoo. She had a great time splashing and getting soaking wet!!!!
