Jilly + Cousin Emmy = BFF

Well...Seth and I just got back from our best friend's wedding in Mexico all last week and we had SOOOOOOOOOOOO much fun. I will post about that later...but for now, here is some pictures of Jillian and her BFF...

Last week, Jillian's BFF Emerson came over for a play date. These girls had so much together playing with toys and running around like crazy! I think they are going to be TROUBLE one day together!!!!

Here are these sweet girls having some fun...

Lots of Love

Riding on Jillian's rocking horses...they kept fighting over the big one

Still riding...what you can't see is that each girl has on one of Jillian's shoes and one of Emerson's shoes. They both have a CRAZY obsession with shoes...any shoe

Here they are eating lunch together

Here is Emmy helping Baby Jules with her bottle

Such big helpers!

Emmy...we had so much fun! Come back and play with us!

It's Footy-Pajama Time!

I HEART pajamas. I always have since Jillian was born. It is always my favorite thing to buy when getting her new seasonal wardrobe put together! Well, the weather has just started getting cold enough for winter jammies...yeah! Here are my two little snugglers in their footie pajamas.

Nothing like two bathed girls with clean hair, lotion, fresh diapers, and new pajamas on!

I love how Jules is laughing in this picture. Her cheeks really look like some of my baby pictures.

Happy Birthday Aunt Kourtney!!!

Today is Aunt Kourtney's birthday! She is turning 24 today and we can't believe that our little baby is all grown up! :) Kourtney is really the very best Aunt...besides myself...and mine and Summer's girls adore her. She always shows up to every family event with HUGE Sonic drinks for everyone and tons of candy for all the girls. We hope Aunt K has the best birthday today!!!!

BTW...Kourtney is a stylist and is really good at her job! If you need any proof, just look at our whole family, because she does all of our hair. So, in honor of her birthday, I would like to give her new shop a plug...see her new business card below! If you are in the North Dallas area and are in need of a good stylist, then Kourtney is your girl! CALL HER...she would love to work with you!

Out of The Mouth of Babes

Last night I was putting Jillian to bed and we went through our normal routine. We sing the same 3 songs every night because that is what my parents sang to us as kids...Take Me Out To The Ballgame, Bye Baby Bunting, and I Wish I Had a Little Red Box. Random, I know...but it is a tradition now. Then I always let Jillian pick out a song that she wants to sing. Then...on to our prayer.

Sometimes during our prayer, Jillian will repeat everything I say. Sometimes she just waits until I am thanking God for the things in our life, and then she will throw a few of her own things out there that she is personally thankful for. Usually she just throws out family members. But tonight, might have been my favorite prayer from my little girl. It went something like this...
Me: "Thank you for Mommy and Daddy. Thank you for Jillian. Thank you for Baby Jules."
Jillian: "Thank you for Target and Costco."
YEP!!! That is right...my child knows what is the most important in life! I was laughing so hard on the inside and trying to keep a straight face on the outside. I am sure this is some reflection on me that I need to get a life or something...if my child knows which stores specifically that we should be VERY thankful for!
Here are some unrelated pictures to accompany my post:
Jillian at naptime...she is LOVING playing with her sleeping bag during the day!

My Sweet Girl

My Happy Girl

And this is how I found her after her nap. She came up with this ensemble all on her own! Those are some sweet black and white polka-dot sunglasses (turned upside down) and a Dora baseball cap turned backwards (she obviously has a Daddy who is a professional hat-wearer). Isn't she the coolest???

Jillian Got Her Hair Did

Jillian is almost 2 1/2 and I decided that is was finally time for her to get her first haircut. Jillian has had a lot of different hairdo's in her 2+ short years...and so here is the history of her hair in pictures:

She was born with a head FULL of dark hair...very weird since Seth and I are both really blonde.

Then, around 3 months old, it all fell out...overnight...COMPLETELY BALD! It was super weird for her to have all this hair and then to have nothing!

So, after the Great Hair Loss of '06 took place (Jillian 3 months old), Jillian's hair has been growing and growing. And..it really did grow! J has a lot of hair for her age! Many people out in stores often think she is older just because of all of her hair. So...it is about time that we got a little trim...because it was starting to look a little long and unkept...and I don't want her to be THAT KID whose Mom thinks long hair is so great even if it is really just a big mess!

So here is Jillian outside of the hair salon...

Before haircut

Now I realize this isn't the greatest picture. The night before was Halloween and Jillian had slept in her cave girl bun...so she had major ponytail crease/bed head! It didn't always look this bad! But, you can see how long and wild it was getting!

Here she is getting her hair washed. I though FOR SURE she was going to freak out! But, with the help of a nice pink dum dum...the washing was a breeze!

My big girl...her first trip to the beauty shop!

Jillian picked to watch Barney as her viewing pleasure during her "spa" day.

She even got to sit in a red firetruck during the cut

Being a good girl...in fact this was the best she has been in a while! :)

"CHEEEEEEEEEESE"

The AFTER shot...doesn't it look so much better!

She looks really old here...my little girl growing up!

They even gave me this little souvenir for Jillian's scrapbook!

Happy Halloween 2008

Halloween 2008 turned out to be a really fun night. This year it was even more fun because Jillian really got excited about the holiday now that she is older and can understand it. She had actually been fighting a fever and a bad cold all week long, and we thought we were going to have to miss out on the whole thing. But, thanks to some strong antibiotics and staying home ALL WEEK LONG...Jillian was almost back to being herself by Halloween night. It was a good thing too...because I made her costume and I REALLY wanted her to wear it. I found this random cave girl costume on eBay, but I got outbid at the last second. So, I just decided to make her one, and it turned out really cute! Jules wore the precious leopard-printed tutu that my mom found for her. I really thought she needed to be some sort of animal/character, so I threw in some kitty ears...and she became some sort of ballerina kitty cat. Not sure exactly what...but she looked so freaking cute, so it worked out!

Jillian...the cave girl AND Jules...the ballerina kitty cat

PURE cuteness! I love my little girls dressing up! So much fun!

This cave girl found it necessary to wear a Dora bandaid, although I am pretty sure those were not invented in caveman times. I think she was able to pull it off though!

My sweet ballerina kitty cat

After we took lots of pictures at home, we met up with our favorite cousins for some fun times. These girls have so much fun together!!!

The FAB five...Emerson (kitty cat), Ansley (movie star), Jules (ballerina kitty cat), Jillian (cave girl), and Macy (nice witch...her words exactly)

Macy ADORES Baby Jules! I love this picture of the two of them together!

I caught Ansley in the back reading to the two little girls. She is such a great cousin!

You can see here that Jillian doesn't quite look like she feels very good. She was determined though to get her a nice stash of candy! They both look so over getting their pictures taken already!

Sweet girl...always on the move!

Happy cave girl!

Baby Jules is ready to get this show on the road! She wants to see what all this trick-or-treat talk is all about!

Our little family. Seth and I must be looking at one camera and the girls at another. This is a true example of what every single family shot of ours looks like! One day, we will get a good one!

We went trick-or-treating with our usual entourage of people. It was our family, The Dale 5, Mimi and Papaw, Aunt Kourtney, and Uncle Caleb! That is 8 adults for 5 little girls! Nice!!!! I actually remember Ansley's first Halloween when it was just her and all of us adults! I am sure we looked like a bunch of losers! :)

Papaw, Jillian, and Mimi

Kourtney and Baby Jules

Uncle Caleb and Jillian. Uncle Caleb LOVES these girls...and they really love him so much too. I mean...Caleb is a young, single, attorney in Dallas, and he gave up a fun Friday night to hang with his nieces! What a great uncle! We love you Uncle Caleb!!!

Now...let the trick-or-treating begin!!!!

My cave girl posing for the camera!

Daddy taking Jilly up to the door

Ringing the doorbell

Walking while checking out what kind of candy she scored!

Now she is on a mission!

Gotta get a back shot too!

And now...on to the next house!

(Hey Marty...if you are reading...that bone in her hair is the one I wore at Harding when I was Wilma to the Kojie function! Ha Ha! )

Baby Jules is just along for the ride! She really enjoyed just getting passed around by everyone! And, yes...Baby Jules had to have a wardrobe change. She had a nice little blow out on her pink shirt...so we changed last minute to black!

Uncle Caleb and Baby Jules. You can't see it very well in this picture, but Uncle Caleb has stolen Baby Jules' kitty ears and is wearing them himself! Nice!

The Dales had the right idea! They brought the wagon and the girls ended up just riding along from house to house! Kids these days...they don't even have to earn their candy! :)

The four bigger girls enjoying their Halloween stroll!

Towards the end, they didn't even have to get out of the wagon! Layton would just wheel them up to the door! We said it was like a drive thru or something!

After a good hour or so...our kids were worn out...and we headed back home to check out the treasure!

Jillian and her "stash"! Here she is trying to say "CHEESE" with a laffy taffy in her mouth!

Here is Baby Jules and her "stash"!

Jules decided that Jillian needed to share her candy!

She sees it...can she get there?

SUCCESS!!! I am telling you...this kid LOVES to eat! She knew she was missing out!

Jules would stick one in her mouth and realize she didn't taste anything, and then she would throw it aside and get another! It was so funny..she went through like 8 pieces this way! BTW...don't you love Baby Jules' comb over? She is going through a rough hair stage right now!

My two girls relaxing after a long evening!
