Out of The Mouth of Babes

Last night I was putting Jillian to bed and we went through our normal routine. We sing the same 3 songs every night because that is what my parents sang to us as kids...Take Me Out To The Ballgame, Bye Baby Bunting, and I Wish I Had a Little Red Box. Random, I know...but it is a tradition now. Then I always let Jillian pick out a song that she wants to sing. Then...on to our prayer.

Sometimes during our prayer, Jillian will repeat everything I say. Sometimes she just waits until I am thanking God for the things in our life, and then she will throw a few of her own things out there that she is personally thankful for. Usually she just throws out family members. But tonight, might have been my favorite prayer from my little girl. It went something like this...

Me: "Thank you for Mommy and Daddy. Thank you for Jillian. Thank you for Baby Jules."

Jillian: "Thank you for Target and Costco."

YEP!!! That is right...my child knows what is the most important in life! I was laughing so hard on the inside and trying to keep a straight face on the outside. I am sure this is some reflection on me that I need to get a life or something...if my child knows which stores specifically that we should be VERY thankful for!

And this is how I found her after her nap. She came up with this ensemble all on her own! Those are some sweet black and white polka-dot sunglasses (turned upside down) and a Dora baseball cap turned backwards (she obviously has a Daddy who is a professional hat-wearer). Isn't she the coolest???
