Happy Halloween 2008

Halloween 2008 turned out to be a really fun night. This year it was even more fun because Jillian really got excited about the holiday now that she is older and can understand it. She had actually been fighting a fever and a bad cold all week long, and we thought we were going to have to miss out on the whole thing. But, thanks to some strong antibiotics and staying home ALL WEEK LONG...Jillian was almost back to being herself by Halloween night. It was a good thing too...because I made her costume and I REALLY wanted her to wear it. I found this random cave girl costume on eBay, but I got outbid at the last second. So, I just decided to make her one, and it turned out really cute! Jules wore the precious leopard-printed tutu that my mom found for her. I really thought she needed to be some sort of animal/character, so I threw in some kitty ears...and she became some sort of ballerina kitty cat. Not sure exactly what...but she looked so freaking cute, so it worked out!

Jillian...the cave girl AND Jules...the ballerina kitty cat

PURE cuteness! I love my little girls dressing up! So much fun!

This cave girl found it necessary to wear a Dora bandaid, although I am pretty sure those were not invented in caveman times. I think she was able to pull it off though!

My sweet ballerina kitty cat

After we took lots of pictures at home, we met up with our favorite cousins for some fun times. These girls have so much fun together!!!

The FAB five...Emerson (kitty cat), Ansley (movie star), Jules (ballerina kitty cat), Jillian (cave girl), and Macy (nice witch...her words exactly)

Macy ADORES Baby Jules! I love this picture of the two of them together!

I caught Ansley in the back reading to the two little girls. She is such a great cousin!

You can see here that Jillian doesn't quite look like she feels very good. She was determined though to get her a nice stash of candy! They both look so over getting their pictures taken already!

Sweet girl...always on the move!

Happy cave girl!

Baby Jules is ready to get this show on the road! She wants to see what all this trick-or-treat talk is all about!

Our little family. Seth and I must be looking at one camera and the girls at another. This is a true example of what every single family shot of ours looks like! One day, we will get a good one!

We went trick-or-treating with our usual entourage of people. It was our family, The Dale 5, Mimi and Papaw, Aunt Kourtney, and Uncle Caleb! That is 8 adults for 5 little girls! Nice!!!! I actually remember Ansley's first Halloween when it was just her and all of us adults! I am sure we looked like a bunch of losers! :)

Papaw, Jillian, and Mimi

Kourtney and Baby Jules

Uncle Caleb and Jillian. Uncle Caleb LOVES these girls...and they really love him so much too. I mean...Caleb is a young, single, attorney in Dallas, and he gave up a fun Friday night to hang with his nieces! What a great uncle! We love you Uncle Caleb!!!

Now...let the trick-or-treating begin!!!!

My cave girl posing for the camera!

Daddy taking Jilly up to the door

Ringing the doorbell

Walking while checking out what kind of candy she scored!

Now she is on a mission!

Gotta get a back shot too!

And now...on to the next house!

(Hey Marty...if you are reading...that bone in her hair is the one I wore at Harding when I was Wilma to the Kojie function! Ha Ha! )

Baby Jules is just along for the ride! She really enjoyed just getting passed around by everyone! And, yes...Baby Jules had to have a wardrobe change. She had a nice little blow out on her pink shirt...so we changed last minute to black!

Uncle Caleb and Baby Jules. You can't see it very well in this picture, but Uncle Caleb has stolen Baby Jules' kitty ears and is wearing them himself! Nice!

The Dales had the right idea! They brought the wagon and the girls ended up just riding along from house to house! Kids these days...they don't even have to earn their candy! :)

The four bigger girls enjoying their Halloween stroll!

Towards the end, they didn't even have to get out of the wagon! Layton would just wheel them up to the door! We said it was like a drive thru or something!

After a good hour or so...our kids were worn out...and we headed back home to check out the treasure!

Jillian and her "stash"! Here she is trying to say "CHEESE" with a laffy taffy in her mouth!

Here is Baby Jules and her "stash"!

Jules decided that Jillian needed to share her candy!

She sees it...can she get there?

SUCCESS!!! I am telling you...this kid LOVES to eat! She knew she was missing out!

Jules would stick one in her mouth and realize she didn't taste anything, and then she would throw it aside and get another! It was so funny..she went through like 8 pieces this way! BTW...don't you love Baby Jules' comb over? She is going through a rough hair stage right now!

My two girls relaxing after a long evening!
