Silly Girls

Here are the girls just hanging out together being cute! Jules always sits in the Bumbo seat and Jillian thinks that she needs to be right up there on the cabinet with her!

Jillian just being silly as usual

Here is Jillian's long hair. I have still never given her a haircut, but I want to go get it trimmed just to keep it healthy. Will it make her curls go away???

Jillian's FIRST First Day of School

Today was Jillian's FIRST first day of school. Now, don't get me wrong...I am completely aware of how NOT-important this is compared to the first day of kindergarten, high school, and college. But, in our little world at The Patterson House...this is a Big day! I really have been so excited for Jillian, because if she is anything like me...and she is...then she will LOVE school and have a great time! Seth says that I have been so geeked out about it, that I should look into enrolling in some classes myself...If it going to make me this happy! HA HA!

So, Jillian got up, ate a nice yummy breakfast, took lots of pictures...and we headed off to school.

Here is Jillian waking up on her FIRST first day of school morning! She was really excited at this point to go to school.

The little scholar eating some muffins to make her tummy full for all the learning that she had to do!

How much monogrammed stuff does it take for one little 2 year old to go to MDO once a week???? Jillian almost needed a Bell Boy to come and help her with her luggage to go to class! I told Seth that I probably appear too excited about Jillian's school with all this stuff...but I LOVE MONOGRAMS!!!! Summer said that Jillian is just obviously a First kid! I can promise, though, that I will have the same stuff for Jules when she goes to school too!

This is about as good of a picture as I could get. She was eating the sweettart that I used to bribe (persuade) her to come outside and take a picture...and she is pointing at the neighbors water sprinklers.

The look of pure happiness...am I right?

I love a good back-side picture!

Happy girl!!!! (FOR NOW)

Here we are walking into school! Seth looks really cool carrying the nap mat. Mom did a good job juggling Jules and still snapping pictures!!

Walking in to her first day...

Here is about when she started to realize that this whole school thing might not be all it is cracked up to be! She is looking at us like..."You guys are coming in too, right?"

This is the point where things started to go South! Mimi s just the best and she showed up to help take pictures and see Jillian off to her class...so we all head into school together as Jillian's little entourage. ( I am so bummed that I didn't get ANY pictures of Mimi and Jillian!!! I just wasn't thinking straight!) Now, go back to January when I enrolled her in school...since that day, EVERY SINGLE TIME we have driven by her school...we have said "Hi school!" and "Bye school!" I have been doing this now for 8 months to hopefully get her used to school and possible excited??? Also...keep in mind, that since Jillian was about 7 months old, I have been leaving her at the gym nursery and in Bible class all the time...and she does great! NEVER cries for me. Well, today was another story. I am sure that I made too big of a deal out of the whole thing...but how can you not, right??? Anyway, we go to drop Jillian off in her actual class and she goes in kicking and screaming!!!! I mean, the child was acting like I was turning her over to a gang or something! I didn't know what to do...so I just walked away and didn't look at her! It sucks that 2 year olds just don't get yet that you will ACTUALLY come back and get them! So, anyway, I walked away sad thinking that she was miserable. So, Seth went back and checked on her about 2 minutes later, and she was already playing with toys and having a good time. I keep thinking that I would just love to be a fly on the wall and see what all actually goes on! I would love to see her interact with other kids, eat her lunch, sing, do art projects...and everything else that she will get to do while in school.

After I leave school, I decide to go run some errands since it is just me and the baby. Oh my word...how quiet my car was and how easy my day was with just one child!!!!

Here is my view of where Jillian sits...all alone and quiet! I did, however, actually get to listen to the radio for a change! I have been listening to non-stop Toy Story and Toy Story 2 since July 4th weekend!!!! And Kid Sing-A-Longs, Barney, and Baby Mozart every day before that for the past 2 years!!! I mean, are The Backstreet Boys still popular???

I also forgot just HOW EASY it is to run errands with only one kid! WOW...I used to think getting that seat in and out was hard! I was so wrong! It was TOO easy to pop Jules in and out of the car today! I even got to use our original stroller! SO NICE!!!

When it was time to go get Jilly, we picked her up and she was SEMI-excited to see me. I guess she is already in "Too Cool for Mom" mode or something! Great...didn't know that started so soon. She was actually REALLY excited to see Jules. She kept touching her and holding her hand! Then we got in the car and she requested Toy Story...and there you have it...life returns to normal!

Here is Jillian enjoying her after-school snack...her first ice cream cone.

Jules sure is hinting around for a bite of that ice cream!!

Jillian got a little gift for going to school...some new high heels (since she broke hers from the Brock boys...wore those babies out!), a First Day of School book, and some blue chap stick! Gotta love the $1 bin at Target!

My Brown-Eyed Girl

Happy again!

This was the best picture I could get with the heels on...this girl is always on the move!

Hopefully next week will be an easier drop off? I hear it takes a while...so I guess we will get there eventually!!!

Back To School Breakfast

Last Friday, my sister had a Back To School Breakfast...complete with pajama attire and a bunch of kiddos getting prepared to start waking up early for school again. So, we got the girls all dressed up in their finest PJ's and headed over for donuts and juice! The party was really fun and Jillian had a great time eating too many donuts and hanging out with Ansley and Macy's older friends. Jules also didn't mind getting passed around and held by anyone who would take her!

Here are some pictures of the Back To School Pajama Party!

Jilly and Baby Jules in their jammies

The Fab 5...Macy, Jillian, Ansley, Jules, Emerson

All the kids playing on the playground

Jillian and Macy on the swings...are the playing together? Are they fighting? Who can ever actually tell with these two?
Jillian eating donuts...notice no one else is still sitting on the blanket eating except for my little sweet tooth girl!

Papaw had to come because him and Mimi had a meeting that morning. Even though Papaw is used to being surrounded by women...he still opted to stay inside away from all the crazy girls outside!!! Here he is with two of his favorites...Emerson and Jillian.

Here is Jules concentrating really hard on holding that passy

Here is Mimi taking care of the Baby

Aunt K even made an appearance...and for some reason Jillian WON'T take a good picture with K. Jillian even calls her Korky and talks about her when she isn't around...but WILL NOT take a picture. Who knows why?
Going Back to School brings back such fun memories for me...because I LOVED school and new school supplies, new clothes, a locker mate (which Seth had never heard of before I mentioned it yesterday...what????), organizing my desk, new teachers, etc! Well, Jillian is starting school this year and I couldn't be more excited. I mean, YES, she is only going for one day a week, but I just know that she is going to have so much fun! We went the other night to meet her teachers and I just felt so good about her school. She has three really sweet teachers and her whole classroom was just adorable! My favorite part of the day was coming home and filling out her "All About Me" questionaire...I just love a good worksheet to fill out!!! So, stay tuned for Jillian's very FIRST First Day of School...tomorrow!!!

Jules is FOUR months old...WOW!!!

Today is the day that I found out I was pregnant with Jules one year ago! I just can't even believe the difference in our lives from that day to today! I was scared to death on how I was going to manage two babies and had overwhelming guilt for having to force Jillian to grow up faster than I wanted her to. I really was sad and confused for a while before I started to get excited about this baby. I felt guilty thinking it at the time because I know so many people who struggle with getting pregnant, and here I was getting this gift that I didn't even know I wanted.

Well, now here we are...one whole year later...and our little surprise just turned 4 months old on Friday! Jules is SOOOO much fun and just always keeps us all smiling all the time with her sweet personality and her big drooly smiles! She rolls over from her tummy to back and is trying to roll from back to tummy...she gets halfway there and then just hangs out on her side. Her latest infatuation is her feet. She LOVES to grab her feet all the time and sometimes is sticking them in her mouth. We finally moved Jules to her room at about 3 1/2 months...after she was cleared from the whooping cough and I was ready to let her go. She is doing really well in there at night...sleeping from about 9 or so at night until around 4-6 a.m. Every morning is different...but at least we are getting that much sleep! Napping on the other hand, is not Jules' best trait! She is starting out as quite the cat-napper...which is also what Jillian did as a baby. I am trying my hardest to get her taking two big naps a day like I had Jillian doing at her age...but my goodness, when you have two babies, it sure is different from one!!! WE will get there...hopefully sooner rather than later!

Here is Jules' 4 month picture...and Jillian's for comparison. Jillian had already lost all of her hair by now...so she was bald...I mean, COMPLETELY bald at 4 months! (Jillian went from a head full of dark hair to bald almost overnight! She looked like a cancer patient to me because I was so used to seeing her hair! It was really a weird thing!) So, does this mean Jules will keep her pretty blonde hair??? I sure hope so! My mom got a big kick out of one of Jules' nurses in the hospital when she was born. This nurse said that Jules' hair looked like the kind that doesn't fall out! WHAT???? We thought that was funny...I mean, how could anyone possibly know that. But, maybe she was right!

Jules at 4 months

Jillian at 4 months (what an embarrassing-ly small bow!!! I kid!)

Here are some pictures of Baby Jules over the last month just doing her thing!

Hanging out in the Bumbo

Playing in the Exersaucer

Trying to get a tan out at the pool

Swinging outside and supporting her favorite football team

Looking like a little pink cupcake at church

Snoozing in mommy's bed!

Looking...OH so cute!!! And keeping tight on that passy...we don't want that getting very far now, do we?

Watching the olympics...gymnastics were her favorite and she is a HUGE Michael Phelps fan!

Hanging outside in matching outfits with big sister!

Ok, I know I talk about how smiley this baby is...and yet NONE of these pictures show that! It is hard to get her to smile when I have my HUGE camera in front of my face! So, I promise, more smiley pictures to come soon!!!
