Jules is 2 Months Old

Not to totally be overshadowed by Big Sister...Jules turned 2 months old on Jillian's second birthday! It is truly amazing that the time with Jules is going so quickly! I feel like we were just pregnant and counting down the days until she made her grand appearance...and now here she is all big and 2 months old! Seth and I wish we could freeze time and have them both stay this age forever because they are so sweet and innocent and FUN! But, we must just watch them keep growing!

Jules is still a very good baby. She is definitely awake more and more and prefers to be held during this time. I have been working really hard to get her used to other places besides being in someone's arms! We rotate between the swing, papasan, her bed, and the pack and play! She is doing pretty good in these places, so I always reward her with a nice nap in my arms! She is sleeping pretty good at night too. I feed her for the last time around 10 each night, and she will sleep until about 4. She then eats and goes right back down until 7. I consider that pretty good. I know Jillian got up 2 times a night, at least...so this is great for us!

Jules is smiling all the time now...especially right after she eats! She loves to stare at big sister...and Jillian really can keep her entertained for a few minutes! This comes in handy as I am trying to work out at home...and Jules always seems to want my attention during my work out. I can get Jillian to lean down and talk to her...and this buys me some extra time!

I have really enjoyed watching the girls interact with eachother..and I can only imagine all the fun we are going to have watching our two girls grow up together! Jules is such a blessing to us and she really makes our World complete around here!

Here are some pictures of Jules in the last couple of weeks...just being sweet Jules!

Jules at 2 months old

For comparison purposes...here is Jillian at 2 months

Here I was trying to take Jillian's 2 year picture, and she insisted that Baby get in the picture with her.

Big Girl...Big Bow. My Dad thinks this looks like a 20's showercap! Look at that belly...she is really growing fast!!!

Jules passed out and sleeping with her arms above her head...just like Big Sister used to do

Her face right after I took the first picture. I know I would hate to be woken up by someone taking my picture!

One day she was napping on my bed, and I came in and found these little guys sticking out the bottom of her blanket. This is funny to me because My Dad and I both CANNOT stand to have our feet in the covers. We both sleep with our feet outside the blankets...no matter how hot or cold it is! I have found Jules like this a couple of times...so maybe she is carrying on our tradition!

Sweet girl holding Mommy's hand while sleeping

Cutie

Again...take a look at that double chin...have you ever seen anything cuter? I am telling you, that is the softest skin that she has! LOVE IT! Also...she gets that bedhead from her Daddy too!

Jillian's Birthday

06.22.08

I promise this is the last of the birthday posts. On Jillian's actual birthday, we had a very low-key family day. The Patterson's and Grandmama got up and left around lunch time and so our little family went to brunch at Mimi's (The restaurant...not OUR Mimi's house). Jillian ordered chocolate chip pancakes and fruit for her yummy birthday lunch! After Mimi's, we went home and swam in our backyard with the waterslide leftover from J's party on Saturday. Then as a close to the big weekend festivities...we went and got Jillian her very first snowcone. She loved it, of course!

For Jillian's present, Seth and I got her a new tricycle. For months, Jillian has been talking about bicycles...and she says it in the cutest way. It comes out Bi-Cutcycle and the "cutcycle" part is really fast! I hope that illustrates that good enough. Anyways, Jilly talks about them all the time...whenever we see a bike or motorcycle or anything like it on TV, in books, on the street. So, I knew this would be the perfect gift for her. I ordered the MOST adorable tricycle online here. It is retro and pink...and just the coolest one I had ever seen. I couldn't wait to give it to her on her birthday. (Jules gave Jillian a helmet and horn to go with the bi-cutcyle...although we are all really regretting the horn at this point.) So, the morning of her actual birthday we gave her the bi-cutcycle and she FREAKED OUT! It was such a huge hit and you can see below how excited she was to have one of her very own!

This is one HAPPY girl!

She is so proud to finally own her very own bi-cutcycle

Jillian's first snowcone...obviously it had been a busy and rough weekend! Jillian looks a bit ragged in this picture!

So goooooood!

Wild Hair!!!

Jillian...we are so lucky to have you as our little girl and we are so proud of the little girl that you have become! You are so fun, spunky, smart, energetic, sweet and well-mannered...and we feel blessed that we were chosen to be your parents! We can't wait to watch you and Baby grow...but stop doing it so fast!!!!

WE love you...Mama and Daddy

The Big Bash

06.21.08

On Saturday, we had Jillian's big birthday bash! I found these little red and white polka dot bikinis right after I found out that Jules was going to be a girl (In January), so I bought them and decided then that Jillian would have a ladybug themed birthday! It was so much fun to find ladybug stuff...because it is everywhere!!! Here is her invitation...

For Jillian's Ladybug party, we borrowed a HUGE waterslide/bounce house from our great friends...The Brocks! (THANKS Brock boys for sharing with Jillian!) We set up the waterslide, our kiddie pool, the sand box, and some chairs and just had a fun backyard party! Seth grilled out hotdogs to go with some chips, dip, watermelon, and popsicles. Jillian invited lots of family and friends and we are so thankful to everyone who came to her party! Here are WAY too many pictures of our fun day!

The Birthday Girl in her birthday suit...so to speak! She has matching Ladybug hairbows...naturally!

I was trying to get a full body shot...and this was as good as it got! She looks like such a big girl!

Love those dimples!

The Red Polda-Dot Bikini Sisters!

Jules looking precious in her "kini"!

The Family Shot...at least the best one we could get! Jillian obviously had better things to do!

The party favors were a book called "Ladbug Birthday" and a cookie that I made that looks like a ladybug.

Here is Jillian going down the slide...

A little nervous...

Now she LOVES it! Look at that face!

You can guess what Baby Jules did all day! That is right...she was passed around by everyone! I never even really saw much of her...I just assumed that SOMEONE was loving on my little baby! It is so great having an easy-going baby. Jillian never let anyone hold her but me when she was little!

Some of Jillian's favorite gifts...

Mimi and Papaw gave Jillian the cutest table and chairs for her toy room! They also gave her a tea party set and she has had about 1,000 tea parties since Saturday!

B-Pa and CC gave Jillian a Karaoke set where she can actually watch herself on TV while she sings and dances!

Here she is in action!

Unlce Layton, Aunt Summer, Ansley, Macy, and Emerson got Jillian her very own sleeping bag! Jillian LOVES it and I feels like such a big girl in it! It is the cutest sleeping bag I have ever seen!

WE had so much fun at Jillian's birthday party and I know that Jillian really enjoyed turning 2! Now it is time to start planning Jules' first birthday! (KIDDING SETH!!!!)
